Ronan is a Chartered Surveyor and Partner of Champion Pearce LLP. He is regularly engaged by contractors and law firms in analysis of construction claims, acting as expert witness on matters involving prolongation claims for time and cost, subcontractor disputes, professional negligence matters and property damage claims. He has been involved in matters across UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Qatar, Kuwait, Ukraine, South Africa, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Ronan was formerly a Partner at Arcadis (then EC Harris LLP) in London.

Recent work has included acting for insurers in a large professional negligence action against a QS firm; acting for a UK main contractor in extension of time disputes with its employer and subcontractors with extensive involvement in arbitration hearings; evaluation of the claims for repair of a luxury house following fire damage; time claims under NEC3 and assisting with resolution of a large subcontract daywork disputes.

Ronan was Chairman of the Society of Construction Law in UK in 2009/2010. He is a SCL Hudson Prize winner. He is co-author of RICS Book “Tendering and Procurement”, part of the Case in Point series and Construction Contracts Law and Management, published by Routledge.

He maintains a particular interest in valuation of overheads, prolongation costs, property damage, and damages from and acceleration issues, the subject of his doctoral thesis at King’s College London.
